You need not look any further to find a more perfect, lovable, squishable bulldog than Winston. Eight-years-old, Winston is your stereotypical bulldog, meaning he’s a loving squish of a dog whose prefers to expend his energy on food and wandering back to bed. Winston has been bounced around a bit due to circumstances beyond his control. He just prefers a quiet home and didn’t have that after a change in his original living situation. He loves people of all ages and sizes although because of his desire for a quiet home, younger children may be a bit too much for him. He gets along well with dogs; in fact, he previously lived with a female toy poodle and we think he misses her companionship! Poor guy is a bit lonely so a home with another dog would be great, although not required. Because he also loves his humans, he’d LOVE to have someone home all day with him — he looks tough but being alone just isn’t his favorite thing! If that’s not possible, though, a midday check-in would also be fine since this guy is both house-trained and crate trained — although, he requests his crate door be left open so he doesn’t feel quite so trapped! He does have to keep a close eye on his waistline; he prefers basking in the sun — preferably while getting some belly rubs — so he may need just a bit of prompting to get out for a walk or some play time. Winston also has a beloved stuffed donut toy that will most certainly be coming with him to his forever home! Besides having the typical temperament of a bulldog, Winston also has the typical “issues” of a bulldog. His wrinkles need regular care as does his tail pocket, so his forever home must be dedicated to keeping on top of those issues.
Winston is a loving, affectionate and smart dog — he knows basic commands, including “paw!” He will fit almost seamlessly into any home — apartment, home — provided it’s a relatively calm, quiet environment. He is currently being fostered near Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
