Mabel is not feeling well

We aren't quite sure what is going on with Mabel--probably a combination of things. Her eye has an infection again and we have her on Cipro again because her lungs sounded so bad the other day. I am grateful that our vet will call out meds for us.

She has not been eating well. She usually eats twice a day, but has cut back to one time a day--and today she won't eat at all. I don't know if it's the Cipro upsetting her stomach or if there is something else. She has been drinking water, and Bill said she's pooping, but I am starting to worry. This poor little thing has had such a rough life. Her health is an ongoing problem.

Chris, when Wellie had pneumonia, he wouldn't eat either.
I'm probably just being paranoid, but were her lungs x-rayed? It might not be a bad idea to have it done...

Oh no Mabel! I would take her in for a check up. In the meantime you can try a plain pepcid (famotidine) 10mg to try to help settle her belly. I buy the store brand. Just make sure it is plain and not maximum strenght.

I hope it's just the Cipro too but I agree if she isn't eating at all she needs to be seen by the vet. Poor baby.

Poor sweet girl!..... sending hugs and prayers she just has an upset belly. I'd be at the vet for sure just to make sure it is just a reaction to the drug.

She ate a little out of my hand tonight. She has so many upper respiratory infections. It is so discouraging. We are keeping a close eye on her and will see how she does overnight. Bill can take her in tomorrow if we need to.

Poor Mabel, I just adore her and for all the hard knock life
she's had, I feel God gave her the blessing of your home.

I agree with Ellie, if they didn't check her lungs & she continues
refusing food, in she'd go, no chances with her age & recent infections.
