Hi there! My Lola just turned 11 years! She is my everything. The last few weeks she has been hacking…..I took her to the vet and he said she was fine…..strong heartbeat, lungs clear. Gave her an some anti inflammatory pills….I came home yesterday and she feels heavier than usual. Her stomach seems bloated as well. She doesn’t seem to be in any pain, still eating normal, drinking water and as sweet as ever. I scheduled an appointment for the vet to see her tomorrow afternoon. I think I am just fooling myself but I am hopeful that this will pass. She has been 100% healthy until now. I noticed a change in her body overall - where u can now feel her spine…..she has def lost some body fat. Has anyone lost a bully and saw these signs before it happened? I am so sorry…,I know these might be signs of aging….I just can’t imagine losing her. Hard to see her now as a senior dog :/

I’d ask for X-rays to rule out any guild or other potential issues. The thinning can be age related muscle loss, which my Cheli is experiencing at age 13

The anti-inflammatoy pills are probably a steroid and will cause bloating and increase in thirst making Lola drink more water.

Agree with Christine. X-Ray can rule out issues if any. Let us know how the vet visit went.

I lost her. It was the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. Let her go so she wouldn’t suffer. My vet should’ve done X-rays in my last two visits. Cancer in her lungs metastasized. Iam so lost. I can’t live without her. I don’t know what to do without her here.

So incredibly sorry for the loss of your sweet girl! Sadly many of us have been where you are (sudden loss). The pain lessens over time but the loss of them is always felt. Give yourself some grace and know grief has no timeline.

I’m so sorry for your loss. Yes, sudden loss is the worse part. You have no clue or heads up what happened or why. You gave Rosie 11 beautiful years. She’ll always be in your heart with forever memories.
