Hi All,
So ever since Fran was a puppy (now almost 1.5) she vomits and quickly eats it back up randomly throughout the day. Sheā€™s always done it and I sort of just thought it was a bulldog thing. But now Iā€™ve been thinking, is this not normal? Itā€™s just a quick throw up and before you could blink your eye, she gobbles it back up, nothing drawn out and dramatic like choking etcā€¦. She eats instinct, frozen raw bites twice a day. She does have quite an underbite, the vet has commented that her other teeth donā€™t exactly line up either and I wondered if maybe sheā€™s not able to chew her food well enough? Iā€™m wondering if maybe I should make her meals smaller and let her eat three times a day to see if that helps. Does anyone else feed their dog three times a day? Or does anyone elseā€™s dogs do this too? šŸ¾šŸ™ŠšŸ¾

What protein are you feeding? Does she vomit the meal or is it a small regurgitation?

Currently she is on a bag of chicken, before this she has lamb, beef, porkā€¦ doesnā€™t seem to make a difference. Usually, itā€™s just a small amount comes up, but occasionally it is a larger portion of her food that comes up. I can tell she does it overnight as well because in the mornings I can see little stain spots on the blanket where she ā€œcleanedā€ it lol... Iā€™m starting to think maybe her portions are too big. Sheā€™s been getting about half a pound for breakfast and half a pound for dinnerā€¦ she uses a slow feeder too.

What does she weight? Half pound may be too much. Company will always give higher guidelines because they need you to buy more. Iā€™d cut her back some and see if it helps.

Sheā€™s 47 lbsā€¦. I was thinking I needed to put a few lbs on her LOL
Yes Iā€™ll def try smaller portions and see how it goes!

Can you post a picture from above so we can she her waist line? Also is she taller? 47 isnā€™t a bad weight for a female, itā€™s actually really good.

Sheā€™s not really tallā€¦& she loves food. I wonder if I should do 3 meals while decreasing meal portions. here are some pics:

She looks good to me! Try the three meals

Nothing is wrong with her size. Yes, she does look good.

I think itā€™s regurgitation. Sheā€™s eating too fast. You need a slow feeder. Jake had that issue n the slow feeder bowl helped him enormously. My slow feeder is harder to get to as it has a tighter maze pattern. The tighter the patter the slower they eat. If you can find one in stainless great. This one is also dishwasher safe.

Attached is what I have. I squeeze his raw meat in it

Thanks! She does have a slow feeder, just started her on a new one that has more of a maze design. Today she had 3 smaller meals and did much better šŸ‘šŸ¼

my puppy does the same but only when we leave him alone in his crate. Off to buy a slow feeder and some more toys tomorrow hope that helps him!
