So our guy Moose has gotten to be very attached to us (in a good way). Lately he has started to jump onto our bed at night whereas before he'd just sleep on the floor either on the side of the bed or the foot of the bed. However, whenever he jumps on the bed he can't get comfortable for more than 5 minutes. He'll lay down snore a little and then get up and just stand and then repeat the same thing over. Each night after letting him sit around for 10-15 minutes I put him down (because the bed is too high for him to jump down) and he goes to sleep.

Question is...why can't he get comfortable? Is it because he likes sleeping on hard surfaces or is he too hot? Has this happened with any of your bullies?

Thanks!

WELL I don't allow my pets in the bed... my allergist recommended it. I would say he gets too hot... OR he's tired of you guys hogging up the bed

When Louie was younger he would do that. He would just go in circles and get up every 5 seconds so we went back to putting him in the crate to sleep. A few months ago, our bed frame broke so our mattress was basically on the floor for awhile and one night he got into our bed and slept through the night and he has been there ever since. So I have no idea why they do what they do...could be age...could be they get hot...I have no idea so I am not helpful at all lol.

Both of mine sleep in my bed. Missy will get at the end of the bed and stay there all night - she is the little one. Punk on the other hand has to have part of her touching me. She will get up and mover around during the night until I tell her to "lay down". Of course, she heaves a great big sigh everytime I have to get up to "potty". . .

If we let Dudley sleep with us, as a treat usually because I am feeling sorry for him for some reason or other :) he will spend most of the night getting up and down off the bed probably every hour or so until around 3am then he sleeps!

Drives me mad but I still end up letting him in bed :D

This happens with our girls when they are in our laps. They stay for a bit then get too hot and jump down. After a brief cool down the cycle repeats.
That super cute boy deserves the very best...might be time for a Sleep Number Bed. I'm thinking his number is 35. A Queen size should be adequate. This way you don't have to worry about making him uncomfortably warm.

IMO, it’s too hot. I don’t allow any pets I’ve ever owned sleep in my bed. I can’t tolerate tossing n turning as I don’t move when I sleep. I did have Duke for a couple months till he was toilet trained but the going up n down like a catwalk till Monsieur decides to flop which was usually in MY face along with the snoring, drooling.....

:chapped::chapped::chapped: I THREW HIM OUT!!!

I couldn’t take it anymore. I needed to sleep. So I put a thick blanket on the floor next to the bed as he needed to learn to sleep on a floor. Week later, the blanket was put into the kennel, door open n he slept there. Nyala was on the sofa but he wanted his blanket. To this day, every bedtime and ever night he come to the door to see if I’m settled in, then in the middle of the night he comes back to the door, stops n listens. He’s checking to see if I’m sleeping. I make sure I don’t move or he’ll standup on the edge of the bed and stare see if my eyes are open. I pretend to sleep, if he sees open eyes, hell breaks loose n he wants to go outside, play, eat....like ā€œhey, your up, Yayā€....it’s like a fregen game with him. But heh, that’s Duke. Little sh*t.

Interesting question - we have a similar situation. We've gone from not allowing Castor on any beds to being much more tolerant. Castor's birthday present when he turned one was actually to sleep in my son't bed, and five years on, he's still there. He goes down on to the floor and over to his own bed (in my son's room) and back onto the bed several times each night, though. The last year or so he sometimes wants to come over to our room, and therefore my son often shuts his bedroom room. Not ideal, as Castor now sometimes calls out (a very soft, gentle woof) so I have to go and get him and put him by me feet instead to keep everyone happy. Fine for half an hour, and then the circus begins and Castor will eventually be escorted back to my son's room. By then he's so tired he will sleep until late morning!

You need to put a doggie door on your son’s door so Castor walks in n out. Ahhhhh see, problem solved..

Cause you are a meanie!! Hahahahaha...just kidding. I love my sleep and as much as I complain about these dogs hogging my side and never giving me room cause they have to be on top of me, I still love it and couldn't imagine kicking them out. Sometimes Louie sleeps at the foot and sometimes he will be in the middle. He also sometimes likes to put his head and Jax and cuddle and Jax usually tries to get away from him lol. Last night my back was to them and Jax cuddled up on my pillow and into my neck/hair. He was breathing in my ear but it's my precious Jax so I let him stay there lol.

Bella starts out under the covers (I don’t know how she does it!) oh and always between me and the hubby.
then she’ll come out (I am sure because she is too hot) then she’ll lay on my pillow between me and the headboard for a while.
Then if she gets cold she’ll want back under the covers (she’ll stand on my pillow and hair too) waiting for the covers to be lifted so she can get back under.
I’m a very light sleeper so I feel her as soon as she moves. She does have to be touching someone .

Lambeau does this often, but once he finds his way under the Ceiling fan— he’ll drop for the night

Dak sleeps in his doggie bed and loves it. He has my home office to himself. He rarely jumps on the furniture.
