It's Bentley's Turn

Good morning to all. We'll we had Bentley's appointment yesterday and it turns out that he has a partially torn ACL. This morning we dropped him off at the Chesapeake Veterinary Surgical Specialists to have his knee repaired and his soft palate shortened.

I am now partially a basket case beause my boy has not been away for an extended period of time and the fact he is very very OCD. I did manage to see one of the night staff and told him about my boy and what he likes although Bentley will probably be doped up pretty good. Now this is the same place that did Jewel's knee repaired. Jewel remembered Dr. P knocking him over from the docs squatting position to give him lots of kisses. I reemphsized to Jewel that it's not about her today and that she is there for moral support.

So in your spare time today, please say a prayer for my little boy that all goes well. As always, thank you for your support to our request. We hope everyone has a good day/evening depending on what part of the world you're from. --rj

Bentley Update. Bentley's surgery went well. Dr. P said the surgery went as expected and there were no surprises. Bentley is on antibiotics, antiemetics, and pain meds. They will hold him overnight and determine his status after rounds in the morning...approximately 0900 hours tomorrow.

I do not know who is more upset...the wife, me, or Jewel. Jewel keeps going around through the house looking for Bentley. I took Jewel for a walk in between the rain squalls and then I took her to PetSmart for some Adaptil for Bentley's arrival home tomorrow (keeping his Type A personality calm). We walked the whole store a couple of times. Right now she is out like a light on the couch. My better half is getting Bentley's crate ready as it his activity we already know will be no jumping, running, walking (except to pee), climbing, and breathing (just kidding). As with Jewel, all of our activities will be downstairs for the next 12 weeks.

I want to thank all for the prayers and well wishes. So far they have worked. Just a couple of more until we get our boy home. Again thanks. --rj

Such wonderful news and soon (knowing it feels like eternity) Bentley will be home!

Hoping all are worn out enough to get rest, some anyway...always touches me that
underneath all the smart *** jokes & playing around, there is profound love for our
babies.

And we are not okay nor totally well, our home not complete until they are...Hugs!

Bentley update. Prior to going to bed, we called to see how Bentley was doing and we were told he is resting comfortably. Is on and IV with meds Turns out, Bentley lived up to one of his nicknames....The Poopinator as he dropped a load in his temporary quarters. He is usually pretty good about holding his pee and poo until going outside...but that must have been one angry grumpy for him to do that. I feel sorry for the surgical staff because Bentley can clear a room.

We call after 0900 to find out if Bentley will be discharged today. Again, thank you everyone for prayers and well wishes.
