Hello all!

I recently posted on the health boards regarding today's surgery but must have missed the introduction area!

I am Beki (or Rebecca) and GusGus (Gus for short...He resembled the fat mouse from Cinderella!) is my sweet 4 year old Bulldog.
We are getting ready to move to California from Japan shortly, very nervous about leaving my Gus with a foster family until his flight in October, but we know it is best!

welcome to EBN. If i am reading your post correctly, you will be travelling with Gus from Japan in October.

I did not know that bulldogs can travel, more so from overseas. Good Luck and I hope that this will not be distressful to him.

Yes we are Traveling from Japan. My husband, children and myself will be leaving during August, Gus will stay with a foster family until October, we didn't want to travel with him during the heat.

I know how hard it will be for you to leave Gus, but you must trust the family you are letting him stay with. I know the weather is much too hot for him to travel now. I love that face-he is so cute. I know he will miss you,too! Has he already met the foster family? I guess you have already checked with airlines,as there are some that will not transport short noses. Yes! We phoned many airlines and found out only 1 will take him. But we have hired a special pet company who will pick him up in an air conditioned vehicle and take him on the flight, if cost most of our savings but atleast now all his risks are absolutely minimal!
We haven't met the foster family yet, just spoke a lot via email, she has a French bulldog and with how fast everything happened, we didn't have time to plan a meet up before the surgery!
