The Gunny Saga continues.....

So yesterday we noticed that Gunny left eye was discharging more than the right (he had both eyes done) and that he was sometimes having issues keeping it open. So back to the vets we went this morning, fearing the worst.

Well did a dye test in his eyes, no abrasions and also the stitches look great, turns out they think he is allergic to the steroid ointment that they prescribed for his eyes! Whoo hoo! One less med to give him!

Gotta love it!

They said his stitches looked great and that he should be fine without the steroid, that it is mainly just post-op swelling they worry about.

Glad to hear it's something easy remedied. I am sure you can happily do without having to put that ointment in.

Oh yeah, attempting to get ointment in an eye is like dragging a screaming kid out of Disneyland.

He was neutered and we had his cherry eyes stitched in. We made an preventive strike on his eyes as they had been popping out more often and staying out significantly longer, since we were putting him under anyway, we thought we would do it all at once.
