Just wanted to get some opinions on our English Bulldog puppy and if he might be a bulldog mix. With so many bulldog parents on here I figured this would be the best place to find out. :D

Some features I've noticed which may be normal (or not), just puppy features, or my imagination are:

1) Is head too small, face too long or narrow/thin?
2) Longer tail? (although I've read this is possible)
3) Body too long, too slim, lack of wrinkles?
4) Eye shape?

It really doesn't matter at the end of the day, but I would like to be correct when speaking about our newest family member, introducing him, etc.

Either way, enjoy some puppy pics!

Thanks for any feedback.

Shipwreck Welcome to you and this HANDSOME BOY !!! Name please?

I'm really not an expert but he sure looks 100% EBD to me! Joey hand awkward puppy stage where her face looked long, but I think she was just growing :)

Either way 100% or not he is absolutely adorable !!!!

I would say English Bulldog all the way.
We have had and have them with smaller heads, some with more wrinkles than others.

Like you said.. doesn’t really matter.. only the Love ❤️

Welcome aboard!!

DSCF5315.JPG Well, as you can see, Maude has a "happy tail" She is an AKC English Bulldog-Your dog looks purebred to me-and very cute, also! Their heads, and bo dies are really not totally mature until 3 yr.s of age! @Shipwreck

Looks like a bulldog to me!

Bulldog all the way... they do go through a boxer looking stage

Very good quality EB, no mixes. Lots of tails like this. Head is nice, good size, face is not too long. Well built, stocky, short, lovely huge paws! Handsome baby! Congratulations!

Like others have stated, bulldogs DO go thru an awkward stage where they look like boxers. Remember they grow up in a year, and it takes about 3 years for them to fill out completely.

Louie will be 2 in February and he still has a lot of filling out to do...still has his Boxer daddy long legs.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I did not know about the filling out stage ... it is strange though, one day he looks like a chunky boy and the next a little long and thin, and then back to big boy, then back to thin, etc ... :)

It's a good lesson for me to relax and enjoy the puppy stages (when not going crazy, lol). We love this little guy, he is almost four months and he recently started to sit next to us without gnawing our hands off. He still tries to chew sometimes but at least he sits next to us for belly scratches and hugs once in a while. Also, he started to give tail wagging greetings when and bulldog kisses instead of nipping and chewing. :D

Looks english bulldog to me, but what I'm a little worried is what you think an english bulldog puppy should look like...:ponder:

He's similar to my boy Ronnie he also has a tail
