Okay I know I know.
Iā€™ve been MIA on here.
Iā€™m always back for Christmas with you guys. Just put up all the older cards from everyone!

BUT

Yesterday my husband and I went grocery shopping. We decided to take Milton with us to get him out of the house.
I got out of the truck and headed in while Michael got mitts all set to go.

I make it in the store and am wondering what is taking so long.

I finally see their faces, and I donā€™t question It.

Michael finally says
Yea I was stopped by this guy that noticed mitts, he has one that he found.

FOUND?!
Like in on the side of the road?!
Found
As in that is my dream is to just ā€œFindā€ a bulldog.

So I donā€™t get too excited but still ask some questions.
Then he hands me the guys card!

As Iā€™m shopping for produce Iā€™m messaging a man that I have no idea who he is about a bulldog he found.

My husband goes
Youā€™re already texting him?

What?
Noā€¦ā€¦

We go back and forth all day texting.
Then Iā€™m like ya know what?!
We were at a different store earlier and left to go to the one where the guy was.

That gentleman took time out of his day to address Michael.

I love bulldogs
It just makes sense

I looked at Michael and said get in the truck!

So story is, he found him 2 months ago on the side of the road ( with more digging-near a breeders house that is notorious for stuff like this)

The guy took him to the vet-which his wife is a vet so thatā€™s a plus!!
Got checked out multiple times with
No chip.
No replyā€™s to Facebook etc.

The guy has 4 huskies
Horses you name it.

He said they didnā€™t have the time and wanted to get him to a rescue or sanctuary.

Well Sir

Casa De Hobert
Has the finest amenities for bulldogs young and old & a momma that will spoil them rotten and get them all the care in the world!!!!!!!

So as of right now
Heā€™s sleeping by my feet.

Vet said he is around 8?
He has already had a name clearly but he responds to fat boy with a wiggle butt and get up and go. So it stays.

Introduced him to our boys last night
Went beautiful!!!

Gave him a bath
Loved it!!!!

He has his own bed. And bedtime was a breeze

He is going blind.
Which he is not all the way, but heā€™s got some spots that are rough.

I love him so much!!!!

If anyone has suggestions of drops or medicine for his eyes
Please let me know.
Also one of his canines is broke
But it looks like an older injury
Iā€™ve got a whole hall closet for everything else bulldog related!

OH MY GOODNESS!!!! What a handsome little man! He has hit the jackpot of homes.

@oscarmayer - suggestions for eyes?

Wow! Everything happens for a reason!

As far as his eyes go, you should have a vet check them out before putting any drops in. Certain eye meds can cause serious damage depending on the issue.

Wow what a beautiful little ā€Fat Boyā€ Just on time for Christmas ā¤ļø Thatā€™s such a blessing the other fur balls accepted ā€œlittle Fat Boyā€. Great advice on eye meds above. Most definitely have him checked out first. Keep the updates n photos coming. Good on you mommaā€¼ļø šŸ‘

OMG!! How wonderful   Yes as others mentioned it might good to book an appt with the Vet, or maybe go right to the doggie Eye Specialist and get the right drops for that new ball of love.

Wiggle butts are THE BEST!! Ellie shakes it so hard when we get home from work, I will have try and video it sometime.

Pork had dry eye syndrome and it was destroying his vision. The vet said it was common in BD's. She did a simple tear test on him to check production and prescribed Optimune ointment. Amazingly, it's available by prescription from Walmart. It increased his tear production. An alternative until you can get to the vet is Genteal Tears, recommended by my vet, also available at Walmart.

For OTC drops I use Thera tears Extra. They last longer than the regular drops. These should be fine until you can see a Vet for proper meds. Optimune ointment ROCKS! Itā€™s the best dry eye med around. Next choice would be tacrolimus. Both require scrips. Thanks so much for helping this senior Bulldog. You are special and he knows it!

What a lovely boy! So wonderful you took him in.
I would definitely get an opinion from the vet about his eyes, preferably a veterinary Ophthalmologist. They will advise the best type of drops or ointment for his condition. Good luck!
