ITS GETTING HOT IN HEEEERRREEE .... whoops wrong Nelly! But our Nelly is still one special girl!!Young and full of joy she loves to be social and is a typical playful dog. But what makes this lil lady a special case is her severe hip dysplasia and suspected torn cruciate ligaments in her hind legs we don't have confirmation that things are torn..she had an acute episode but has been fine and happy since... There is a current plan of care likely requiring future medical needs and a possible shorter lifespan. We are looking for that special human(s) who wants more than anything to make it the best life she can possibly live. Current focus has been on maintaining quality of life and she has been doing well on Metacam and Omega 3. Gabapentin was also helpful during flare ups.So this sounds like a big commitment right? You might be asking yourself ‘that’s a big ask and what’s in it for me?’. How much would it fill your heart to be the reason she experiences joy in her life? Does receiving her unconditional love and devotion count as a good start? Does coming home to your next new best friend peak your interest? How does filling that void you didn’t even realize you had with this 80 lb goof ball sound? You could become her world and vice versa! When you are feeling sad she will be there leaning on your shoulder trying to will you into happiness. No issue with housetraining. Excellent on leash but has Walmart Greeter syndrome and wants to say hi to everyone. Knows basic commands. Being 50% Bulldog means she is 150% attention hog with a sprinkle of wiggle butt. Will demonstrate spurts of puppy energy so a pawrent who can continue her training, provide a solid routine is key. Providing of lots of cuddles is non-negotiable as is showering her with stuffies that she will be often caught just carrying around.Probably best suited for a home with older kids because of her size (not judging You Nelly!). She is accepting of friends of the feline persuasion so long as they are dog savy. Foster mom compliments her on her great manners. Don’t let the health stuff fool ya! She enjoys her walks and it helps burn off some of the puppy energy. At this point we should put another disclaimer that we are NOT RESPONSIBLE for the deep snoring that might occur after said exercise. So you see, she really is the whole package!! And really would like to have a family of her own to grow old with. At this moment we are going to pause while you click on the link below and fill out the adoption application.....Please check out our website at HOMEWARD BOUND RESCUE – for more information on how to adopt.NELLY is best suited for a home in the country or with tolerant neighbors as she is chatty
