Something is not right w/Walter...

This started about 3 days ago... coincidently the day that I was involved in a vehicle accident, I got T-boned sitting at a red light :pissed:

We noticed Walter growling more than usual... sometimes he growls at his butt, basically letting us know that his anals need to be cleaned. He has started pacing the floors, panting, and not eating. He will go to his bowl and just sit there and look at me. I have hand fed him a couple of times, but then it's weird... this morning he ate by himself. I got the vet out here on Friday, and she did a check on him... one anal was bad, but besides that nothing. She gave him a B12, antibiotic and a pain shot. He seemed to be fine later on Friday, but then Saturday we are back to the same odd behavior. Last night I had to kick him out of our bedroom because of the pacing... and panting. Right now he seems fine...

I'm going to have the vet come back here tomorrow and do a FULL workup on him to include bloodwork. I'm just worried... something is up, and I can't figure it out.

Any advice is welcome, and I could use some prayers... I'm on meds for my accident, so my anxiety level is at full max :gloom:

So sorry to hear about your accident and that Walter is not doing well. I'm afraid I can offer no advice, but will pray for both of you. Good that the the vet is looking at Walter.

Poor Walter, and poor you! I am so sorry that happened to you and I hope you get some answers about Walter too. Very worrying.

@ddnene Tracey, so glad that you are alive! Things in this country are sure screwy, including drivers! To me, it sounds like Wally is having pain somewhere. It's a scary scenerio when you can't see the problem. Sending prayer and best thoughts for you and Walter! Hugs, too!

Whoa, glad you’re ok n home. Geez.

For him to pace the floors, panting, n not eating is yes, definitely pain somewhere. Sending you positive thoughts n plz keep u posted.

We are so very glad to hear that you are alright. Was Walter in the vehicle with you during the accident? I would have to agree with Manydogs and say it sounds like he's in pain. Taking him to the vets is a very good call, especially to make sure there is nothing seriously wrong with him internally. I hope and pray he's alright.

I was the only one in the car, Thank the Lord...
Something is definitely wrong w/him, and I hope we can figure this out soon!

Sorry, no real idea what could be going on with Wally, but real warm and healing thoughts coming your way......

Yep, he's distressed about something...likely pain as others have stated. Hoping that he's just worried about you from the car accident.
Get well soon...both of you!

Tracy, I am so sorry to read you were in an accident. I am so glad you are ok. I am praying for you and Walter. Please keep us updated.. It definitely seems like he is in pain.. If only they could talk and tell us what's hurting.
Until we know more, i'm sending all our love and prayers.

The vet came by yesterday, and took some blood labs, did another physical exam and gave him a steroid shot. He was much better last night, was able to sleep... and is acting normal right now. I'm hoping we will get some answers today!!!

Thanks for all the prayers & good wishes... I'm definitely worried about my sweet boy :moping:
