Just dropped off Tyson

Oh man, poor girl.

We had a similar experience.

Wellie had liquid diarrhea post-op. I threw away 3 rugs because we couldn't get him out in time (remember I live on the 17th floor?) and spent hour scrubbing the floor to get it out. Very hard since it was liquid.

The diarrhea lasted a few days then turned into bloody diarrhea. We took him back to the hospital and the vet said it was stress induced colitis and put him on meds for 5 days. It finally cleared up and he's been back to normal for about 2-3 weeks now.

But the first and second week Chris and I were taking turns staying up all night and taking him out every hour, it was horrible. He also got diaper rash so I have two different version of Desitin now.

Oh yes, I quickly learned the purple desitin works much better than the blue. The blue didn't stick at all! I didn't realize Wellie had leaky butt too. :(. I remember the colitis though, I just didn't realize how bad it was. :(. I feel his pain!

So Relieved that you and Ty had a good night(well, at least Ty did! ) Keep up the progress Ty, and wish you well!

Checking in to see how Tyson's (and your) night went. Hope he is improving and hopefully you got some sleep!

@TyTysmom how's he doing today? Hoping you're getting some much needed rest....

Hi! Sorry for the delayed reply, I took today off as well to watch over him & get some rest myself. Tyson is doing good. He is dealing with nausea, lip smacking, etc but I'm picking up meds for him tomorrow to help with that. He's still in pain, his cut to the stomach was much larger than I had anticipated... Poor guy. I can tell when the pain meds start to wear off bc he has more trouble sitting. But I've been on them every 12 hrs like clockwork with pain meds & antibiotics - and he's on Pepcid now too to help w the nausea. He's eating well, and actually started drinking some water today!!!! He hadn't drank himself without us making/helping for weeks, so this is wonderful. Tomorrow he should feel better with the Cerenia for nausea, doc said his stomach was under a lot, being cut, the sock adhered, the acids & inflammation, it's gonna take a good week or more for him to heal up, the stitches are internal & dissolve on their own. I'm still resting with one eye open, but having no breathing complications after surgery for us is tremendous!!!!! Thank you all for following up & checking on us! You are all so wonderful. I'll keep up with his progress, and will post some pics in the morning. I have to go back to work tomorrow :( but I'll come home during lunch to check on him. I'm sure it'll be a long day for me with lots of worrying, but hoping he just sleeps all day. Thank you ALL for the hugs, prayers! @Manydogs @brutus77 @DieselsMom @RiiSi @My Otis Blueberrys Mom 2BullyMama

Thanks for the update.

The worst of it is over now. You can start to relax.

I actually feel relief myself! I have been so worried for you and Ty. especially when I saw no update yesterday. Hope the boy continues on his good road to recovery, and you can breathe a little (or a lot) easier! Hugs to both of you! TyTysmom

Just wanted to share some pics of my strong boys recovery.
First is his belly :( Big incision. The ones in the kennel are minutes after he awoke from anesthesia. Then one with his daddy on his first night home after surgery, and the last two are from yesterday! He thanks you all for all the prayers! Slow but steady - Love, Ty & Jessica bullmama 2BullyMama Blueberrys Mom My Otis brutus77 Manydogs DieselsMom

Wow! He looks great already In #5! I am so happy he is better each day, and I must apologise to Daddy, as I know he must have been so worried, too. Considering what he has been through-he looks pretty good. Probably better than you and Dad!!!
