Got our bulldog yesterday...is this normal??

We picked up our girl yesterday. Belle is a beautiful 9 month old and she's the result of waiting for 15 years to get a bulldog We stopped at Petsmart on the way home from the breeder and good gracious...I felt like I was escorting a celebrity! Is it normal to get so much attention from strangers? She literally stopped traffic as we were walking through the parking lot and inside the store everyone had to come up and talk about her. I loved it :D I'm a proud new mom and people were very polite and respectful. Is this the norm when you take your bulldog out in public or are people around here just super friendly? Belle was a rock star and seemed to love the attention too.

Oh yes. I have people taking pictures of Brutus and Frankie while I am standing on line. Bulldogs attract a lot of attention. Just be careful never to leave them alone. Bulldogs are stolen all the time, especially out of the backyard. I never leave my guys alone.

Yes, I'm super paranoid about people who may want to steal her. She has an excellent build and it's obvious by looking at her that she's not a cheap dog. She will always be inside the house with us or leashed outside...can't take any chances!

yes! I have had people pull over while we're out for a walk just to ask what kind of dog frank is since he is some kind of EB mix. last night at our new vet frank was given the superstar treatment and got a guided tour of the building with belly scratches and butt pats from everyone! it was very nice haha. but generally strangers have been kind and respectful so far, I get the occasional 'he's so ugly he's cute' comment which I don't like, but other than that people just want some puppy lovins!

Bulldogs are Rockstars. I live in a touristy area and mine always get their pics taken. Good way to keep them socialized too.

Yes! I'm a huge believer in extensive socialization. Luckily our community is very dog friendly so I'm planning to take her a lot of different places.

aww.. what a cutie!! sigh.. one day I'll have a pretty girl bulldog. I'll get her a pretty pink collar with bows and paint her nails pink...lol..

Totally normal. I get stopped all the time, asked to take pictures, people love them some bullies!

They are followed around by the paparazzi all the time. Keep your eyes on her always, she's a cutie!
