Senility setting in?

I am getting quite concerned about my boy. The past month or so he has become very "needy'. Late afternoons and evenings, he will not leave me alone. Doing his Chewbacca thing constantly and if that doesn't work, barking at me. The only way to appease him is to sit on the floor with him and give him hugs. He can't jump so doesn't get on the furniture and getting on the floor does not do my old bones much good. I have steps but he won't use them. I don't think he is in pain or ill as he doesn't do it overnight or in the mornings. We have to put him in the utility room for some peace. He can still see us and usually just goes to sleep but I hate to have to do that. I have just bought a pheramone diffuser and am getting some calming chews today. I have given him Benedryl and that works but he then is also really drowsy. He will be 9 in June.

Any thoughts, ideas?

He loves to snuggle...? I have no experience with seniors so I’m not sure what could be or help.

If he never done this better n this is all new, definitely something is up. You said he can’t jump. Did you check that out? Does he do that anytime throughout the day or just in the evening, new food?

I don’t see any but 7 threads plus this one. Also I couldn’t get on the site till now. I checked all my threads. Thank god they are still there cause no way was I going to redo the essential oil one....way too long lol. Phew.
