I just noticed on Eli's head a red spot that looks like it's bleeding or oozing blood. It looks to be a little clotted up.
This is the first time I have ever seen anything like this on him.
I emailed the photo to his vet just now and hope to get him checked out tomorrow.
Does anyone recognize this symptom?

Thanks!

It looks like a cyst that exploded or maybe a bit, I'm happy you're taking him in to see the doc.

Once cleaned, could you get a better look at it? Hard to tell at this angle...

I cleaned it a little bit but the blood seems to keep oozing out. Plus I'm really afraid of hurting him.
I think the previous post might be accurate as he has recently had redness and swelling similar to this in between his toes. Each time the vet put him on an antibiotic and it fixed it in a day.

Here is a close up shot. This is the best I could get. It really looks like what was on his toes a couple of weeks ago.

Hmm… could be a cyst or a hot spot that is developing. Let us know what the vet says...

Oh poor baby. It does look like it could be a cyst. Good luck at the vet

looks like a hotspot that he was scratching that caused it to break open. If he is getting cyst on his paws and now has a hotspot, there is something he is allergic to. Could be in the food or environmental.... what food (brand/protein) are you feeding?

Just got back from vet. It was a Hotspot nothing more. He is already on antibiotics and this morning it was all dried up and basically healed.
Doctor said no action or medication required. Since it has almost completely healed itself.
thanks to everyone for the replies. I feel so much better now.

Btw..He eats Fromm food.

Glad to hear that he's on the mend!!!

Which flavor is he on? My girl was on Pork and Peas, did very well, but other flavors not so good. Also, it could be environment too... grass, pollen, tress, etc. If it is that, then some Benadryl to help and wipe his paws and belly when he comes in from outside

I have no problem with antibiotics but, if constantly on & off them,
antibiotics are treating the symptoms and not resolving the root
cause. Not saying this is you but if this happens again, come back
and we'll try to help. Is your Fromm's grain free or chicken free?
Cami was on Fromm's Chicken a la Veg and had to be changed.
Your bully might need a change too...just sayin' :)
