Last week, i had to get Ruthie and Brutus Fromm's game bird recipe food since the store was out of the beef fritatta I normally feed them. Well this week Ruthie has been itching the crap out of her face. Today, she was bleeding from it. I cleaned it up, put on some vertrycin and gave her a benadryl. Could this be a hot spot? Do you think there is any correlation with the food? if i order new food from pet flow it won't be here until next week and we are traveling. She never gets anything like this so i'm really thinking the food is the issue. Thoughts?

it does look 'wet'.... if you move the fur is the skin moist and 'raw'

Yes. And i just noticed she has a HUGE cyst between her toes.

UGH --- shave it down and get it cleaned up with peroxide, then try to keep it dry. "It's the food, Jerry... it's the food' (Seinfeld reference) :giggle:

Love Seinfeld....Thank you! i'm trying to find their regular food now.

It's amazing what a slight food change can bring on isn't it? ...same brand but different protein causes an immediate reaction like this. Amazing.

I switched back to ruthies regular food on Wednesday afternoon. The store was nice and took back the game bird bag after I told them what happened. Her face is already clearing up nicely. She's still a bit itchy but I think that might be from the scabs. This morning I asked her to stop itching and this is the look I got...
