Beware the Leash

It looks quite harmless
On the pet shop wall.
It’s just a training tool
To teach, protect, that’s all.

One end is for your friend,
One end you will hold
It easily unattaches,
Or so you have been told.

But what about the perfect fit
Molded by good times shared?

It’s no longer leather;

Alice, you show such grace and dignity in your hour of grief. I know your heart must hurt so but Mack was one of the luckiest bullies to have you for a mom. I have not belonged to this community for very long but I am so glad to have found it and to get to known all of the wonderful caring people who make up this incredibly supportive group and you are one of those people. Take care of yourself and I am so, so sorry for your loss.

Thanks to all of you for your caring comments. They mean so much to me. 2 years and 4 months ago we were told that Mack's heart could stop anytime. We are so lucky to have had that extra time with him and especially fortunate that Mack was able to live until he died. He had a great life right up until the end.
