URGENT!!! Is this a seizure????

Hoping you get good news from the specialist today. I'm glad to hear he isn't limping at least anymore.

She did mention that he might possibly have chronic bronchitis, which she has never seen in a puppy before :( He acts like he feels good, but you can still here a bit of wheezing occasionally. Still not-so-patiently waiting for an update from the specialist......

I finally spoke with vet #1 & vet #2 . After they received the report from the specialist, they are all in agreement that it is a chronic pneumonia we are dealing with. They want me to give him another round of antibiotics, finish out the diuretics that he is currently taking (about 4 more days), and finish the steroids he is now taking (about 6 more weeks). They believe that this is his best chance of clearing his lungs as best they can be. He will need to have regular CBC's to monitor his white blood count. If/when his lungs are clearer, he will always have a greater potential for getting pneumonia and unfortunately his life expectancy is much shorter now. It is basically a wait and see scenario. My heart is breaking for my little baby :( He just turned 11 months old yesterday!

:(. So sorry Cyndi.... I so hope he stays well and does not get it again

I'm so sorry he has to go through this, I pray that they do clear up and he feels better. :assurred:

Vegas was diagnosed with pneumonia when he was barely a year old. It was a very very scary time. Of course it was October when he was diagnosed and cold as heck here. It took a while, but we got him feeling better. We were told not to expose him to anything cold. No baths no outside time at all. They barely wanted me to let him out to go potty they wanted him kept warm inside and snuggled the whole time. Which is not easy for a playful puppy. Give mayhem hugs from us

Oh, Cyndi, i'm just reading your update on Mayhem now. Like Chumley said, Mayhem is truly a fighter! I know it's scary though and i'd be worried sick too but he's getting excellent treatment it sounds like. I will be keeping Mayhem in my prayers for a full recovery.

I sure hope the extra antibiotics help get rid of this all for good, poor baby! I know you are so scared, praying for him to recover from this, keep on fighting Mayhem!

Thank you all for the words of encouragement :). I will keep you updated on his progress.

Do you think the antibiotics and steroids make him tired? He acts like he feels good, but he sleeps or lays around most of the time. He doesn't "play" a lot like he used to.

i think the pneumonia itself will make him just want to sleep... it is draining.

2BullyMama, he seemed to be playing more today, so that is good :)

I'm just reading the updates now, I know the meds Will work and he will do great. Maybe when you think he is getting a cold the vet can treat him quick before it turns to pneumonia.
