Hi all,
Just wanted to say hello from myself and Bella and thank you for letting us join the forum!
I always had dogs growing up, and after my cat was recently PTS, I decided to adopt another dog. I have never had a bulldog before, but after looking into the breed, decided a bulldog was a good match, as I have a 10 year old son. And then I found Bella!
Bella has been with me around 2 weeks now. We think she is about 5. I adopted her from a local rescue centre, where she had been abandoned in and left in quite a bad way. She had been used at a puppy farm, had countless litters of pups, was bleeding internally, had an umbilical hernia, and had been poisoned! She obviously was no use to them anymore as she was unable to have any more pups, so they left her in an abandoned house in a cage. She now has no teeth (well, she has one and a couple of stumps lol) because she had tried to bite her way out of her cage and ground them all down!
Despite all of these problems that she has, and even though she has obviously mistreat so badly by humans before, she is absolutely the most beautiful and loving girl ever. I instantly fell in love with her the minute I met her, and knew I had to have her! She has so much love to give and she is so gentle, i can't imagine my life without her now!!
I have never had a bulldog before - so am just getting used to the unique needs that they have, and trying to do what is right for her- so am so glad I have found you all!!! Aside from her health needs, she also has a fear of other dogs, and of strangers - so walking time is a bit of a problem at the moment as she is extremely reactive to pretty much everything! But we will get there :-)
BUT no matter what her problems, in her short time with me she has brought me so much love and joy, that nothing else matters. She is my BFF lol.
Thank you again for letting us into the group - I am sure I will have lots of questions over the coming weeks

Love
Mel and Belle
