Thanks to the generosity of English Bulldog News, Gary the bulldog had his knee surgery on Friday, December 27, 2013.
According to his orthopaedic surgeon, the surgery went very well. Turns out that Gary had a luxating patella that was the highest on the chart as far as severity goes, meaning that his knee cap was totally off of where it should be and was on the side of his leg instead of the middle. They fixed that and actually inserted some pins into the bone to help hold. We were afraid that he also may have had a torn cruciate but good news is that it was not torn yet, so the doctor inserted some nylon in his leg to help stabilize. The really good news is that Gary's hips are good so once his leg is healed up and with common sense precautions, his legs should work just fine going forward.
Again, we cannot thank EBN enough for the support given to Gary. Attached are some pics taken today. As you can see, Gary loves his Kong that EBN gave him, that is helping him pass the time while he is crated.
Thank you again and Happy New Year!
