Castor (2013-2021 RIP)
So now we too know what a hotspot looks like. Took Castor to the vet as he has itchy ears and has lost some fur on the top of his head and it turned out that apart from a minor ear infection (no antibiotics needed, just daily cleaning) he has developed a hotspot and they shaved the back of his head/neck and we're to schampoo and spray him daily. Poor guy.

He is also going to try allergy meds (cetirizine hydrochloride) for the first time so hopefully that will give some relief too.

cefe13 I think we are all having a turn with hotspots this year. Maude had them in her wrinkles on her face last month. That was hard to clear up. Keep at it(I know you will..) they are awful, and creepy how fast they appear-and spread! Poor Castor-hope it heals up fast!

Ugh... we just dealt w/this earlier in the summer. Walter had a full course of meds, and it finally cleared up... I hope Castor feels better soon!!!

Hotspots are definitely not "hot"! Tate has had his share of them this summer too and I'm still dealing with one on his paw. Good luck with Castor's and hope he feels better really soon!

UGH!! allergies are hitting the whole world hard this year.... hope he is all better soon
