I took Monty to the vets this morning and had to leave him there. As the antibiotics have not knocked this out, they recommend surgery to follow the course of the infection to try and find the actual infection site in his body and remove it. This is the last course of action they can take and if this doesn't work, I will have to take him to a specialty hospital for them to try and figure it out which would almost certainly also mean surgery and a massive bill. I had a choice to make. Let Dr Dikeman and Dr Chellapan operate on him or immediately take him to Gulf Coast Specialists. I opted on the first choice and will hope and pray it cures him. If not, then we will bite the bullet and up to $5000 bill (per Dr Chellapan) and take him to Gulf Coast. Naturally, I am concerned about the anesthetic and the possibility of him having to go under twice but unfortunately I also have to realistically consider the cost of all this. I have utmost faith in Monty's two vets and I really feel they have done their best. They had discussed this and decided this was the best course of action.

So, please everyone, all your prayers for Monty and his full recovery.

Oh sweet Monty. Are they doing the surgery today??
He really is in great hands with Dikeman and Chellappan!

He is in excellent hands at Brittmoore animal hospital. Dr. Dykeman is excellent. He did one of our bullies a long time ago. She needed her tail pocket operated on and he did a great job. I have not used Dr. Chellappan, but I'm sure she is fine, as all the vets there are very good.

Tomorrow. He had eaten this morning, plus Dr Chellappan wanted a surgery slot with plenty of time for it. She is even doing one of his to give him more time if necessary. I have a funeral tomorrow and Dr's appointments myself so couldn't take him down in the morning.

I hope this goes perfectly...GOOD LUCK, Monty!

You got this Monty...sending positive thoughts and vibes your way!

I know how stressful it can be. My Frenchie has been at the ER since Saturday. He was put under anesthesia on Sunday for the MRI and again on Monday for the surgery. I was a nervous wreck but had faith the doctors would take care of him and they did.

I am sure Monty is in good hands...keep us posted!
