Yep, one is very tight & I never cleaned it until the past year. I didn't realize she had one because my first bully had a longer tail that lifted up & was easy to clean. I think it was EBN that clued me in on the subject of tail pockets and I went hunting and prodding and there it was. Thank goodness she doesn't have any skin issues huh? My newest baby has one but it's very easy to get under & clean.
Both do.
Blues is very deep and tight. I've been cleaning it twice a week lately to keep it from getting infected.
Wellies is not tight or deep. Very easy to clean.
Winnie has one. I didn't even know what one was because none of my prior 3 bullies had one. I found out when at a vet visit I mentioned a not too nice smell coming from her. The vet cleaned it and told me how to do it and I've done it every day since then. It's kind of hard to get to, but she gets treats and will tolerate my cleaning. Thank goodness for cheese!
She has never gotten an infection.
Belle had one that was really tight and constantly infected- we had her tail removed a couple of years ago. Chief has a really deep one, but it's easy to get in and keep clean. It gets wiped morning and night.
Jewel had a cork-screw tail with a very deep tail pocket. However, we had her tail and pocket removed when she had her ACL TPLO surgery. Bentley has s small tight tail pocket the we clean daily with witch hazel.
Yes, what I thought was a tight tail and deep pocket isn't to bad, he was just kicking up a fuss every time we cleaned him. Now he's ok and lets us do it
