am i in denial??

I just recently visited some family that i haven't seen in a long time.. of course I am the only one that did not have children in the family so when everyone is showing pictures of their kids i bring out my 1000 (might be exaggerating a little but not much less) pictures of my furbabies my Aunt looked at them and said your dogs are fat!!

I told her they aren't that she does not understand that bulldogs do look heavy because of how they are built.. my husband keeps telling me i am in denial.... what do you all think.. ok maybe a pound or two but i don't call them fat.. lol

not the best picture but hard to get them all together in one picture..

Best way to check is to look from the top -they should have some waist line and ribs should be easily felt but not seen x your babies are beautiful x

Your pack look good to me! Lewis' Grandmother refers to our pups as 'fat and ugly' we laugh our butts off the first time she said it, mind you she was 82 at that time and is now pushing 90 with Alzheimers.

So, for a few years after she first said it, EVERY card (birthday, Christmas, Anniversary, Easter, Valentine's day, St. Patrick's day, just for the heck of it, etc) what she got was a picture of her two 'fat and ugly' grandchildren..... it ended up being a great laugh and she really does (well, did) love them dearly. She ended up framing her favorite one and some made it to the fridge. Now, we no longer bring them to see her... she does not know us or them any longer so visits are short

I think that your dogs look perfect… MOST people say that bulldog are fat, they don't understand because of their short stature and stock build they are mostly muscle. People make uninformed decisions unfortunately… Lol

that is a sweet story.,. sorry she don't understand now.. its tough i know i went thru it myself.
i wonder if sometimes people just don't know what to say when they see a bulldog.. i have had some say they are so ugly that they are cute.. lol.. some are afraid.. ha.. i tell them that kisses never hurt anyone so far because that is the most they will do to you..

Honest opinion...
I think Bulldogs look their best when they are on the high-side of a "healthy" weight. Yours all seem to be at this weight. When they get older it might be helpful to pull some weight for the benefit of their leg joints, back, and heart.
You have an outstanding looking crew there!
