I would appreciate some thoughts as to what could possibly be going on with Buster. Occasionally, he will vomit in the middle of the night. I say vomit, it could be regurgitation, as I have never actually seen it happen. It is undigested food, hours after he has eaten. He seems absolutely fine, eating and drinking normally, no bathroom problems and he didn't do it for the first few weeks after we got him. His former owner said he would throw up if he was fed after 4:30pm. We feed at 5 and I really don't think half an hour makes any difference! I was never told exactly when he threw up, immediately after or hours later like now. They almost insisted that I keep him on the same food he had been fed as it lessened the vomiting. I had been feeding him Zignature but he was pretty gassy so OK, I put him back on their food, TOTW, grain free High Prairie. When I mentioned all this to the vet she said it was probably one of those things and gave me some Cerenia. Not really helpful as I never know when he is going to do it! I put him on a bland diet for a few days and all was well. I am in the process of changing to Earthborn Holistic Venture Smoked Turkey and transitioning to it after the bland diet. He threw up last night. I really don't have a clue except to think that maybe it is just the way he is. Anyone?

You can try giving Pepcid or Famotidine. Jax used to randomly throw up undigested kibble when he was younger and the Pepcid helped.

Thank you. How aften can you give it to them? On a daily basis?

I think so. But it’s been so long I honestly can’t remember. You can probably Google dosage for dogs. Or call and ask your vet.

Walter will throw up at night, but it's normally phlegm... the weather is changing here, so I attribute it to allergies. UGH I can never get a full nights rest... Lol

Yes... daily, I have to give it to Cheli in the AM otherwise he will regurgitate his breakfast. We recently noticed he was also hesitating to eat in the morning so I started giving him a half a Zyrtec and that all went away as well so it could be a mixture of seasonal allergies along with some upset belly I would try the Pepcid first 10 mg a day which is basically one pill if it’s still happening maybe add in a Zyrtec with dinner

Punk is 11 and the vet has noticed that her stomach lining is thickening. I have to feed her small amounts during the day and I too have noticed that if I feed her late in the evening she will throw up either during the night or in the morning her undigested kibble.
