OMG OMG OMG OMG!! Is everybody sitting down?!?!
OK. Here are her last results...
The critical numbers were
BUN/Urea Nitrogen 182 (should be 6-31)
Creatinine 3.2 (should be 0.5-1.6)
BUN/Creatinine ratio 57 (should be 4-27)
Phosphorous 15.6 (should be 2.5-6.0)
Todays numbers are........ drum roll please.......... (and I'm too excited to scan right now, sorry)
OH, I should mention that different labs have different normal values so I'll list those too
Bun/Urea 36 (should be 7-29) (still high, but nowhere near AS high)
BUN/Creatinine Ratio 28 (should be 4-27)
Creatinine 1.3!!!! (should be 0.3-1.2)
Phosphorous 9.4!!!! (should be 5.1-10.4) It's NORMAL!!!
Last month I was told that Abby's condition was critical. Tonight they tell me it's GUARDED.
She said that from these numbers Abby has a much higher chance at a longer life, she couldn't put a date on it but I reminded her that she can't put an expiration date on a healthy dog.
Abbys kidneys are still failing and they are still abnormal. But for today, for this test... she is better. I'm to keep what I am doing for her food and meds and decrease her subQ fluids from every other day to every 3rd day.
