OK well most of you know of the trials & tribulations I've been dealing w/since my hubby has been gone... it's been one thing after the next, but it's all GOOD :D

Well my kids Fall Break is coming up in a couple of weeks so I decided to book a cabin in the mountains for a long weekend getaway w/the kids... AHHHhhh!!! And I was pretty late booking one, so I was super stoked I found a great little cabin on such short notice...

Well... guess what?!! I just read on FB that the Smokey Mountains National Park is closed!!!

I'm an optimistic person... I WILL have a wonderful trip w/my kids, but seriously... I feel like I have a black cloud over me lately!!!

Deep breath in through the nose....exhale out through the mouth. Ahhhh. Maybe the government will figure it out by the time you go on vacation and all the national parks will be open again. Good happy "get it together government" thoughts!

Tracey sounds like both you and me have done something bad in the past and we are getting paid back now. I so hope you still have a wonderful time without visiting the National Park

Our government is "shut down" until further notice because they can't come to an agreement. It shouldn't last much longer, hopefully it will be open by the time fall break gets here!

I know... it's just getting worse. After watching the news today, it's hard to predict what some nutcase is going to do tomorrow!!! I'm originally from the DC area, and I can't even imagine the panic...

I can't imagine that shutting down the National Parks and the monuments can save that much money, but what do I know? I think the members of Congress's and their staffers should be the first part of the shutdown.

I sure hope they figure this all out. You guys deserve this vacation!

Thanks guys... I'm going whether the mountains are open or not.
I've heard a lot of people have canceled their plans, but we will still have plenty of fun things to do...
Me I plan on sitting in the hot tub and so hopefully the government can't shut that down... LOL

Thanks Carmin... I have had a spell of bad luck this year, but I'm still hanging in there. This too shall pass... LOL :D

I feel sorry for anyone who had vacation plans to our national parks and monuments. Even a local hiking meet-up group here in Pasadena had to cancel their planned hike yesterday b/c the park was closed d/t this fiscal crisis! Not really good for our nation's morale
