Today Joe and I have noticed a "popping noise" like when you crack a knuckle in your finger in Veg's back left leg when he jumps up on the couch with us. He is not limping and seems not to bother him at all. We are getting our "winter" right now and it is dipping down to low 40's. My own arthritis is killing me, but what do you think this could be with Vegas??? I massaged his leg and again seen no pain out of him.

It is probably from a loose hip joint. It may just be loose enough to only pop when he jumps. The only way to tell for sure is an x-ray, but if it only does it when he jumps, and not while he is walking, I wouldn't worry about it.

Wonder if his hip joint is acting up? He does t have a history if arthritis tho right? Maybe you should just call the vet and ask? Of will they want to see him etc

David's right that's what it is. Buster makes a clicking sound sometimes when he plays really really hard and when we asked the vet that is what she said it was. No worries.

Oh Honey...I'm starting prayers immediately for Vegas & y'all.

Going thru a simular thang with Ms Cami, no popping noise tho but a limp.
She injured her hind leg a week ago (didn't see it happen) and wouldn't
put her weight on it and cried as I tried to examine it. Crated her for 4 days,
low dose aspirin (after determining no bleeding going on) & 50 mg Tramadol
daily. She showed no pain when I handled her leg and only limped slightly, a
week of this, I took her in. The Vet suspects ACL tear & surgery is needed.
I'm not convinced as he didn't seem all that up on bullies normal joint functions.
She's on 10 day dosage of Previcox (newer anti-inflammatory & pain relief)
then re-examination & another x-ray.

So...I know how you're feeling, dear Kelly~Much love & endless prayers!

No history of arthritis, just connecting it to being cold for us here and my joints are hurting.

Thank you so much Texas Carol!! Davidh, anything I could be giving him like glucosomine (sp) or something like that to lube up his joints??

Vet said it's her knee, he also said her uninjured rear leg felt even looser (knee).

But Cami has shown no problems with her joints at all, no limping, no pain, no
stiffness, etc.

Hoping it's a pull/sprain and will heal. If not, then searching further for a KNOWN
bully Vet and go from there. I see a Vette being sold (in my future)...oh well!

Kelly, I asked Sherry her opinion right away as she has one w/bad joints.
She gives Regenex (equine formula) 8 drops daily and for me, no surgery
yet and if continued (said it takes quite awhile to heal, like 3-4 mo's) than
get 2nd opinion. For Cami, she rec. NOT CRATING as it would stiffen her,
just no jumping, running and no walks yet (Cami doesn't anyway) just reg
activity & close watch to prevent jump/running & give Regenex & Previcox.

KMARINO glucosomine certainly would not hurt.

Ah, poor buddy.... Hugs to him! Agree with David and the glucosamine will not be a bad thing

Kelly, hoping it's nothing serious with Vegas' leg. Maybe also try easing up on him jumping for the time being.

Brutus' legs do this sometimes. I think it sounds kinda like a clicking sound. He never shows pain or discomfort and it doesn't happen all the time so I don't worry about it. Maybe something similar with Vegas??
