Is my English Bulldog truly an English Bulldog?

im a new member, and also a very recent new english bulldog owner,Blake is 4 months old and weighs 28 pounds, i just wondered if this is all normal for a purebread English Bulldog????what age will he stop growing in height? THANKS

Just wanted to say HI and welcome to EBN! Blake is such a handsome boy! He looks like an EB to me. A big boy at 4mos, but size varies and they may keep growing in width til up to 2yo. Height wise tho, not sure when that actually stops.

Growing in height? How tall is he now? Purebred english are usually on the short and stubby side... Perhaps he is an Olde English Bulldogge?

Definitely looks like an English Bullldog to me! He's so cute! I think some bulldogs just tend to be of the taller and longer legged variety while some are shorter legged/wider and more stout. My Tonka has a little bit of a longer body and legs rather than being super wide and stout and yours might be the same. I can't remember when Tonka stopped growing in height but I know he was still growing taller as of 4 months.

Gunny is just over 4 months and 30+ lbs and he is purebred. He may be slightly shorter but not much, I would say more than likely English.

Looks english to me, they can look like little boxer pups from the age 4-8 months. This is when they grow tall. Then all the sudden, around 9-10 months they start going wide and they you look at them and go "When did that happen?" Sometimes it seems like over night they get all broad chested. Then, that grows and stregthens over the next year. The last part to grow (wide) is the head.

I've never had a puppy- All mine have been rescues. He looks English Bulldoggy to me though!

Welcome! He looks EB (and very handsome)to me, but if you care and want to be sure you can always have a DNA test done.

He looks like a pure breed English Bulldog to me! My Gio is on the taller side compared to most. Blake is wicked adorable!!
