So excited for you! Get her vet checked as soon as she arrives. Is she flying? If so watch for signs of sickness within the first few days. Check her ears and get her whatever shots and especially deworm her 3 weeks in a row. She may have diarhea the first couple of days due to stress. You can order dewormer from atoz vet supply and save a ton of money on vet bills!
I called atoz vet supply and to save a ton on vet bills and fecal analisys for worms you can order safeguard. You give it 3 days in a row every 2 weeks at least 3 times.
The reason I recommend this is because I learned the hard way and ended up spending hundreds on curing worms in one of my pups I got in the past. It will also protect against giardia, which is one of the worst fecal problems EVER! A to Z vet is on almost every page here at the site, so just click on the logo.
Congrats! We just just our first bulldog, Otis, a few days ago! He is INCREDIBLE, and I'm sure your girl will be too! I know what you mean about the anticipation...I could hardly contain myself. I'm happy "The Day" is finally here for you- ENJOY IT!
Dora is here! She is amazingly sweet and smart! She has not had an accident in the house yet (and now that I said that, Murphy's law, right???) She has a vet appointment tomorrow night and I'm sure she's going to be fine. She was a little groggy on Friday night but perked right up Saturday. She is completley tuckered out (as are we!). I live close enough to work that I can come home during the day to feed, play and let her out. We are totally smitten with her! My son adores her. We had her on the front lawn lead training her and a car went by, slammed on the brakes, backed up and the driver got out with what looked like something silver in his hand. I screamed for my son to go in the house and I scooped Dora up immediately. The driver came running over to me and all he wanted was to take a picture of her! LOL....I don't live "in the hood" so I don't know why I assumed it could have been anything other than a camera! LOL
Dora is going to be one spoiled little girl.....if we can just break her of the biting. She loves to bite even though we redirect with toys she can chew on. She'll come around because we are persistent and consistent. Oh, and she sleeps through the night, too.....SWEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!
(Bulldog Pride.....did you get your Otis from Sherri?)
