After American Idol?? That show was amazing!!! I know we have all talked about being thrifty but this show was totally cool.

It showed 3 different people and how they used coupons and there grocery bill would be around $1,000. They would pay about $12.00 in the end. One lady dumpster dives on Sunday's to get the coupons out of the trash.

There homes had rooms and when you walked in it was like being at a grocery store. I could not believe how much they saved. If you have not seen it. Look for it. It is on Tuesday nights at 9:00 You will be amazed!!

Joe said it was just organized hoarding, and to a point I can see that, One lady had enough toilet paper to last her and her husband 40 years. Lol.

Wow! I wish I knew how to do that on some level. I clip coupons but dont really seem to save all that much usually. lol.

I didn't see it but by your description KMARINO she must stock up when she can purchase cheaply on TP and other products. Being an inventory control specialist (ret.) she has invested their savings (which could be earning interest one way or another) in TP. Hmmmmmm??? Think she'd make more if she stockpiled gold... LOL :)

I love that show but I agree with your husband - it's an addiction, like hoarding. Let's face it, no one needs 600 toothbrushes. :)

600 toothbrushes, is she going to live 300 years? you just need to change every 6 months. Ha. My mom would buy toilet paper and soap EVERY time she went to the grocery store. I would say to her, mom we have some and she just replied back "when will we never need it?" she was right and we never ran out! But we didn't have a room full either.

sheshistory, Bella'sMom, the guy that bought 600 toothbrushes also donated a lot of the stuff to his church. But I agree 600???

i watched that show and i have a friend who does it, not so extreme though. i would like to, but it is so much work.

I saw it and it is definitely organized hoarding. Seriously.. the lady dusts everything and rotates it on her shelves at home... who has that kind of time? I can't believe they use it all before it expires..

sheila, before I was married I struggled I worked full time and raised two boys, and I was thrifty, Now that my kids are gone and I am married again....I am still thrifty and make two dinners out of one meat, I am not as insane as I once was, but I agree, it is to much time to do all the work, one lady said she spent 70 hours a week clipping coupons, I only work part time, but WHO has 70 hours a week? it is an addiction, a organized hoarding. I would much rather spend my addiction on this site or going on date nights than clipping a damn coupon for .25 cents!!
