FB_IMG_1569454383795.jpgDon't ever think you can go help your son pick out a puppy, and think you are getting away! This is Jackson, one of the 2 pups Todd and Katy could not decide between, thus, enter Ken and I. Jackson is very small, a little timid but oh so very sweet! Ken fell in love with him (me too) but we thought Ruger was a better fit for Todd as we knew he wanted a rough and tumble kind of guy. That said, they decided to take Ruger who is very outgoing and will be a big boy. It broke our hearts to "leave him behind". We knew someday we would get another bully, we just weren't sure we were ready. We are done traveling, getting a little older, and pretty much stay in our own space. Ken talked about Jackson the whole way home. It tugged at my heart, but I wanted to make sure he was really on board. His only experience with bulldogs is Bogey, who was well trained ( well sort of) by the time Ken came into our lives. He heard my horror stories of my little Satan so many years ago, but adores Bogey. So, after sleeping on it for 2 nights, lots of discussions and taking a deep breath- JACKSON IS OURS! Todd and Katy are away, and will return Monday morning. We have Bogey and the plan WAS to go pick Ruger up on Sunday and we would introduce the 2 dogs, in sort of a neutral place (ours) and they would pick them up Monday morning. We are going to get them TOMORROW and the kids do not know we decided to take Jackson! They have been sending Ken pictures of Jackson, and pushing the envelope but he does not want to tell them. It will kill me all weekend to keep it a secret, but it will be a nice surprise to them, especially Katy, who really was heartbroken to have to make a choice. They live only an hour from us, so we will have lots of bully bonding in the future. I am SO happy to be back and will be a frequent poster with all the puppy issues on the horizon!! Welcome to our world Jackson!!
