Blue and Wellie heading to the hospital today..

Glad they are both recovering, hoping and praying for them both tonight for speedy healing!

Praising GOD that your two beloved boys are in recovery and
your terrible ordeal of waiting & worry is over. Will continue
prayers over all especially for uneventful & speedy healing!

Thanks all. Haven't heard anything all night so I guess it went well.
The vet should be calling soon and provided all is well, we can pick them up after 11 am.

@jenzaar I completely forgot to mention the main reason we decided to get them neutered. It's for social reasons. Neutered dogs hate intact ones. Not all, but most. It's caused issues and because of where we live, it's impossible to avoid.

@ChrisRN I know @2BullyMama had it done twice. Am wondering if it was scar tissue?

Thanks all.

Got a call from the vet an hour or so ago. They're awake, alert, ate their dinner then went for a walk together.

Wellie coughed up two blood clots but she said they expected this since his palate was so large, and then he caused that scene. Otherwise, they're doing fine.

Provided everything stays this way, we'll be able to get them tomorrow afternoon.

YEAH!!!! :jump:

Woohoooo! Here come the longest three hours of a never-ending day.

I always heard that, but have never seen or experienced it first hand. Again, i totally get it, especially living in a city with a billion dogs... And with two dogs that everybody and THEIR dogs must meet. :p

I am so happy to hear that they have come through it all OK! That is scary about Wellie! Poor baby!!!! I think Mabel's palate issue has returned, but I don't think I want to do anything about it at this stage. Poor little thing wants to play, but she gags and coughs after a couple of minutes. I may see what the specialist says when he sees her again in the spring. I can't wait to hear about how well Wellie does!

Yes, with Cheli, he had to have it done a second time, can't remember how much time passed, but the scar tissue was hanging in his throat causing the same issue. It was due to him barking when I got home from work... so the second time, we did not crate him and he healed up nice

I hate to put the little girl under again, but I will have the vet check. He said he took off as much as he could without impacting her ability to swallow. As it is now, we can't give her anything like a filled Kong because the filling comes out of her nose. Poor baby!

I would be the same way.... see what your vet thinks and go with your gut.

How's the boys doing today?

Blue is good.would never have guessed he just had surgery. Wellie is not so good. He's vomiting up liquid every hour or two. Not much but still shouldn't be happening. Called the vet and was told this is common in bulldogs and if he's eating and not lethargic, he should be ok. So we're just keeping a close eye on him for now

Good to hear Blue bounced back so well..... Let's hope Wellie stop the vomit real soon... VERY close on on that sweet boy

I hope and pray Wellie feels better, that's so scary after all he went through. Good to hear Mr. Muffin is feeling good.

Sometimes anesthesia can effect them longer especially since he was out so long, hopefully he wil bounce back by tomorrow. Glad blue is doing good, I'll keep wellie in our thoughts and prayers!
