My Puppy Khaleesi is 40 pounds and she just turned 8 months I feed her 3 times a day and she's a very active bulldog I believe. She definitely will sleep a lot of the time, but when she's awake she's very hyper and loves playing fetch with her ball and going on walks. I exercise her daily and I surf so me and my girlfriend bring her to the beach multiple times a week for her to run around. She does seem pretty fat for a bulldog her age, although I think she's a taller bulldog, I'm just wondering is this unhealthy for her to be that heavy this soon? Should I put her on a bit of a diet? I'll put some recent pictures of her. Thanks.

My boy Tank is 8,5 months and he weighs 20 kg 300 gram, and he is super fit (every day at the beach, walking at least 5 km a day) and not fat at all. Your dog doesn't seem fat or anything. She looks fit. They say you mustn't see ribs of your bullie, but should be able to feel it under the skin and muscles. I don't think your puppy needs diet. She is still growing.

Ok thanks yeah she's very active for a bulldog and seems to be very healthy, its just been awhile since I took her to the vet and I hadn't weighed her since she was probably 4 or 5 months and I researched how much bulldogs her age typically weigh and was a bit worried, but I think she's just a bigger bulldog and every bulldog is different.

Don't worry about their weight yet. Your's still has a lot of definition in the waist so that is good. Mine was around 40 at 8 months. You can start thinking about adult or all stages food.

Khaleesi looks happy and fit, not fat to me. My boy Bully is just a bit over 5 months old and 33 pounds, he is already "16 at the shoulder but his dad was a bit on the tall side with a really big head. He weighed 65 lbs but wasn't fat at all, quite impressive looking guy. I feed 3x a day too, my Vet said as long as he was growing no problem (especially with his frame).

Just curious what you feed her? And yes do NOT worry about the weight she looks good! She's still a pup.

I don't think she needs a diet, she is a beautiful girl! I would switch to the adult food 1 cup twice a day might need less if she's been fixed or if it's a higher protein food

Jack is 8 months old a weighs 55 pounds. He is not over weight just very solid.20160917_184101.jpg

We feed him Fromm HasenDuckenpheffer 1 1/2 cups twice a day.

What a beauty!! At 8 months you can switch to adult food and feed twice a day --- she looks great!

Beautiful dog! Bulldogs come in all sizes, says Castor (who himself weighs about as much at 3,5 yrs)!

My Bocephus has been 50lbs since he was a year old and has been ever since. He will be 6 in December :) I think they all vary so much. His doctor says he is perfect bulldog weight!
