I also recommend Dr. Larson at South Hill Vet. I originally found him thru the "Bulldog Club of Greater Seattle" and refered him to my mom. He owns the clinic and he "specializes" in bulldogs. When my mom took Chesty and Cadence in to meet Dr Larson, he immediately pointed out Chesty's pallett issue. One of Chesty's litter mates had the same condition and it was not diagnosed. He lost his life before he was 3. Kudos to Dr Larson for saving Chesty.
Dr Larson also recommended Seattle Veterinary Specialists to me for Vegas. This clinic has 24 hour emergency/critical care (they even have an ambulance!!) This is where Vegas's neurologist is.

This is a great idea, I wish there was one listed here for Pittsburgh! We've been to several vets. The one we're currently at now seems to almost dislike bulldogs. The first thing he said to us after coming in with Maggie was "Do yourself a favor and never get one of these dogs again. They are cute--but they are the reason vets are in business--and the reason they're alive is because of vets. They have the worst health ever, they're difficult to train, and they just cause alot of hardship." This was all before we even knew the vets name! Sadly, it's the closest to our house--and he has given excellent care to our dogs thus far, it's just we can't forget that first day, no matter how many times we've seen him now!

I wanted to throw another option out there for bullie owners in Arizona. I got to Banfield The Pet Hospital, part of PetsMart. I know, I know, I thought they'd be awful too but, on the contrary, I have had a very good experience there with all three of my bulldogs, specifically at this location:

I got to Dr. Keller who is proactive about bulldog health and no nonsense when it comes to telling me if someone needs to lose weight, get on a better diet, and get things under control. He is a younger guy but takes his time, is great with the dogs, excellent in treating not just symptoms but the root of the symptoms. They also have nice facilities and up to date technology that I haven't seen in every vet office - along with a full pharmacy for your pet. And - because it's inside a PetsMart, it has great hours:

I have made numerous appointments because of pressing (and not that pressing) medical concerns and have gotten in the same day every time. Also, I participate in their Wellness Plan, which for a small monthly fee provides free office visits any time, a discount on prescriptions, two physicals per year with fecal exam and blood work up, which is great for preventative care, and all vaccines. If you enroll in a plan before 6 months, they even have an option to neuter or spay the dog at no charge.

I'm really happy with them and I would highly recommend them, Dr. Keller specifically.

We're going to be trying to find a vet in our area (NW Milwaukee WI) this coming week. The only one I've seen listed anywhere as recommended was in West Allis, but also it appears he is very close to retirement and only works limited hours.
