IMO the biggest issue IS the sedation at her age. I'm sure the vet will be able to HEAR and see her condition and why you even consider taking the risk of sedating for the surgery. Sorry, but I would not let them sedate only for examination. That would possible mean two sedations close to each other.

It did nearly kill me leaving her there for sedation but thankfully it all went well and she is a great candidate for the elongated soft palate surgery despite her age.
The vet assistant will sit with her now for a while, she's just starting to wake up and the surgeon will call us soon with more details. We can pick her up tomorrow even, I'm so relived!
