So I took Jack to the vet....not so great news

Jack started having UTI symptoms yesterday so I took him to the vet today and just as I thought,he has a UTI. Antibiotics given, he should feel better soon. While being examined, the vet found what she called "a significant" heart murmur. She said it is extremely loud for a 9month old puppy and he needs to see a cardiologist. I called Laurette at LIBR and she was quite upset. I saw a vet she doesn't like. I was supposed to see the other partner in the practice, Laurette said he very well may have some type of murmur but considering he is completely asymptotic,she doesn't think it is as severe as the vet made it out to be. She said if it was really bad he would possibly be passing out and have trouble breathing. This vet was saying he could have a birth defect in one of his heart valves or a hole in his heart! Anyway, jack has a 9:30 appt tomorrow morning with a specialist to evaluate him. Keep him in your prayers please that it isn't too bad. Regardless, we will keep him and love him for however long he has. Hopefully it is a long long time.

Let's hope the vet didn't know what she was talking about! It happens! I had one of those give me a death sentence on Chumly just after we moved here. She gave him 2-3 months before any test, then after X-rays all he had was slight arthritis in his shoulder!!! My God, how wrong can you be! I never went back.

Hopes and prayers it is something insignificant and he is as good as new in no time. Let us know as soon as you hear something.

Our Lola at 6 months age was diagnosed with a grade 3-4 Pulmonic Valve stenosis and was given 1 yr to live. She passed at 9 years old and we just let her be a Bulldog...and when her time came we knew that she had been given the best shot at being a dog that we could possibly offer.

Praying the vet is wrong, yes they are often wrong they wanted to put my Maddeson down at one day old as he wont live longer than a day or two well he lived a very healthy life until he was fifteen and passed away in his sleep no sickness.
