I’m sure this is a topic that is posted a lot!

My beautiful baby Lola used to have a perfect nose rope.
Her skin colour was perfect, no gunk or smell..

Then all of a sudden, after her breakfast I gave her a face clean and discovered her nose
rope was red and had white gunk underneath the rope.

The next day it did look a lot better but the skin is slightly red and she still has a little gunk.

We clean her face twice a day. We use a recommended face wipe brand from
Pets at home (uk) and dry with cotton pads.

Lola used to have royal canine but we changed to Wainwright’s.
We decided to change because she kept getting dirty ears and a horrible
tail picket. Since changing these have both improved massively.
I changed from one recipe to another because I thought it could be the potato,
but this new recipe has a small percentage of sweet potato but Lola loves the food.

I’m really confused about her nose rope.
She isn’t in any discomfort, she is still her lazy, crazy and adorable self.
My partner has discovered that sometimes when drying her nose rope,
she will find blood on the cotton pad. Not sure if she dried a little bit to hard, but
I have never had this happen when I’ve cleaned her nose rope.

I’m sorry if this is a bit lengthy, but she’s my baby.
I’ve been told by a friend that it’s a normal thing, just keep it clean and gunk free.

I hope someone can put my mind at ease, any help will be hugely appreciated.

Tom, Darcy and Lola (:

Welcome to EBN!

Wainwright’s is a good food, you are right in avoiding white potatoes, it can add to yeast issues.

Try cleaning with witch hazel as it has a natural drying agent, which you want to keep the rope clean and dry
