I took him in this morning at 10:00 after he vomited his entire dinner from last night at 6:20 this morning. He had been snubbing breakfast for a few days which isn't unusual for him, but the past two nights he was not sleeping well... constantly moving around the bed and sitting breathing real fast and shallow, but not a pant. When I explained all the above to the vet -- they wanted to see him right away. when I got home to get him around 9:00.. he had thrown up again (foam/bile) and was sitting in a corner on the stairs. He would not walk or move.. I had to carry him to the car and again from the car into the vet office.
They kept him for the day, Dr. Rossi just called - they are no real answers as to what is causing the vomiting, but in doing the xray he noticed his liver and spline did not look right. So, he called for permission to do an ultrasound..... our baby is in bad shape - two masses on his spline, his liver does not look normal and he has something wrong with is heart.
Dr. Rossi is having one of his techs drive Nitschke to Metropolitan Emergency Vet to see a heart specialist, we are waiting on a call back to know if it is OK to even move him. Since we are 45 mins away from our vet and Metro is about half way between Dr. Rossi said they will take him there and we can just meet them.
I am an absolute wreck.... he is my baby, my heart.
