What type of ingriedents in a dog food do you look for for firm stools??

does salmon oil affect that?

What are some things to do to achieve this for a dog

mike

A lot of firm stools comes from the complete processing of the food, not so much what the food is made from.
What are you feeding your dog now and does it work for you.
Please try to combine all your different threads into one so we know what has already been discussed. Otherwise we start over each thread.

Awww mike..this is the million dollar question! It's a trial and error process of food ..if bella has a sensitivity to anything in her food..that will so affect her stools. I saw on another thread you are searching for a limited ingredient food. Can you tell us what you've tried..what the problems were with the foods you've tried and I'm sure we can help.

My booboo have had loose stool for a couple of days.. I wonder if its because i fed him too much?
He's 2 months old, 12.7lbs, and i feed him 220grams of food each day.
Before it was 200grams each day but he seems hungry so i added more.

Any thoughts?

You just have to figure out what is bothering him, then cut it out.

We went through numerous food brands trying to achieve the firm poo... we finally figured that it was chicken that was messing with his belly. Tried a few more without chicken until we found one that he enjoyed eating... I'm now proud to say that he is producing beautiful poos.

I think before i added the portion his stool are fine. Maybe i'll try trying reducing his food. He's not too fat right?

Many things can cause loose stools.... Allergic reaction to food, worms, giardia, too much food...
