Moose is Injured

I'd be suspecting, after a week of crate rest and no improvement, a ligament tear. If still no improvement after 2 more days, it's time to escalate this to a specialist.
Too young for anti inflammatory meds? Hmmm. An X-ray would show little or nothing in terms of soft tissue damage. An orthopedic surgeon could probably tell from joint manipulation.
I hope I'm wrong and he's back to new in 2 days.

Agree! Questioning the anti inflammatory statement too--- never heard that before

So just an update. Looks like Moose just needed a few extra days of rest. For the past few days we were very strict with keeping him off his paw as much as possible. At night I massaged his arm and iced it for about 10 minutes. Last two days we started him on NuJoint. Today he was active and ran around like crazy. It was also his first time that he was able to jump on the couch without waiting for us to pick him up:D.

Oh boy! That's what I wanted to hear.

The news is goo! Like to hear that!:D

HI Moose!! Ellie and I are just catching up, SOOOOO glad to hear you are feeling better.

...And...he's limping again :fie:
Looked good last week or so, he was a madman yesterday and jumping all over the place. He was sleeping on the couch and heard me go for his bowl and just jumped right away. 5 minutes later he started limping again and not applying pressure to the same paw. I'm going to have to get him steps to get on the couch.

Getting steps is a very good idea.Get them before he injures his legs and needs surgery. For the injury reasons, I never had let my dogs on the couch. Now they are older, have a loveseat, but they have a step to use to get up there, when they do, bulldogs1501

Ugh... they are buggers

How is Moose today?...better, I hope.

oscarmayer He is walking a lot better, maybe a slight limp. Could be that now I'm just so focused on that front hand that I over analyze how he positions it and forget he is a dog.

Very well could be.... but still keep an eye on him and don't allow jumping or going down stairs just to be cautious
