This all just cracking me up! Our dogs stay downstairs, the girls are still crated at night. We have a "no dogs on the furniture" rule. So we don't have any problems. We made this rule because of Arrow (huge St. Bernard), he's just too big to be on the furniture. We do pick the girls up into our laps, but they don't get on and off the furniture otherwise.
