Is an 11 week old 9lb bulldog underweight

Aw, so cute! I would just keep an eye on things...my bulldog Linus was a preemie when he was born, a tiny little guy! His full grown, adult weight was 82 lbs! And they said he was going to be a runt! :D

He looks healthy, but see what the vet says. I thought our Daisy was underweight but when I went to the vet he said she is perfect the way she is and a very healthy weight - 6 months old and 30lbs. I believe she was about 12lbs at 11 weeks old.

I thought Lola was underweight when we had her but she was a fickle eater, and she was also the runt. 11 weeks we picked her up and she was 16.2 lbs, a few weeks later, she was up to 18lbs. Now a healthy 48lbs (she was up to 54 at one time!)


just to add, its better to build up weight slowly rather than bulk up as a wee pup. Easier on the growth plates while the joints finish developing and easier to notice any breathing issues if not overweight.
