Hello everyone! My name is Leigh Anne and so pleased to be a member. My EBD is 18 mos old. his name is Harley and he was born on New Years Eve! He is my 2nd EBD. My 1st died of of a foreign object obstruction, we had no idea till it was too late. She had the surgery but became septic...she left us Sept. 10, 2011 her name was Dottie Lane. At the same time she began to get ill, we had my grandmother with us she was dying from cancer...Hospice was with us and cared for grandma while i ran dottie back and fourth to ER specialists, vets and i was cleaning up after all the through up, hospice was with me through it all. Grandmas hospital bed was butted up next to mine and as sick as this dog was she was climbing onto the bed with Grandma...Gram was still lucid enough to tell me Dottie was sick cause she was sick.. This was so crazy..it was like they were dying together and Dottie and Gram had really bonded over the years, I couldn't believe my eyes! Grandma(94) passed on Sept 9th, while Dottie was in surgery and we had to put Dottie(4) down Sept. 10th. It was so horrific, I dont know how we all got through it...I do know Grandma waited for her and they went to Heaven together
.
So, after a while, still missing all the pitter patter around the house and there being a HHHUUUUUGE VOID and my husband asking me to wait and heal a bit and explaining that i could not replace her. Well, I listened for about 8mos and that was that
And comes 9 week old Harley
a boy! I'm 43, in all my years we never owned a male...oh boy! Wow!
Like I said he's 17mos now, and he is awesome and we of course are in love
we started training at 10 wks and that was a huge help and he love to go through all the lessons and tricks. We've had some madness along the way, and finding this website has been a great help and miracle! I love seeing all your dogs! I love to help if i can or share comments. Most of all I love the unity in this community..friends helping friends and sharing thoughts & stories!
The most important lesson I've learned the hard way is just because they make it, sell it and market it for a EBD..doesn't mean they can have it. Durable toys as big as their head or bigger or forget it!
I'm posted pics of Dottie & Grandma-6 mos. before they passed ....and My
Harley boy!

Thank you All for listening,
Leigh Anne
