I a going out of town tonight until Friday morning. My dad is coming to stay at my house tomorrow and take care of my fur-babies for me. I havent ever left them for this long and I know they will only be alone for the night but what can I do to make them feel as comfortable as possible. Mr.Beefy and Georgia are "trained" they have good house manners and as long as the tv is on they are ok. Baby joe is still a puppy and distructive when left out. Do you think she will be ok in her crate till morning? I havent ever had to crate her that long but she is comfortable in her crate. Any advice or suggestions? I know they will be ok but I just hate leaving them!!!:bully:

I see no reason she shouldn't be okay in her crate. Gertie and Ida spend every night in their crates. It's their "bed" and they go into them for naps during the day. Gertie, especially, takes herself to bed in her crate all the time.

I really hope so... I work from home and do college online so I am ALWAYS home with them. Georgia is used to me being gone becuase i use to work 12 hr shifts and had to work some weekends straight thru so she would go to my moms. Baby Joe has never been left this long idk I think I'm just nervous lol.

I think if it's just overnight she should be fine.

I think I may set up my webcam and link it to my laptop.....just so i can still "watch" them lol

I actually did this... I bought a cam, Sharx SCNC2606, which is wireless WIFI and has it's own web server, allowing you to access remotely, to include smart phones. I use this with Blue Iris software which makes it easy to program... you can set the sensitivity to record at the desired level of movement or sound. They also have an infrared version... pretty cool.

I thought I would have alot of fun with this, but so far I just really been able to confirm that our dog sleeps all day :)

Vegas loves his crate he naps in there or the couch which ever he prefers, but at night definately in his crate, when my husband and I went on our 6 day honeymoon I booked a suite at a doggie day care, he had his own room which was air conditioned and we actually took his crate so he would feel comfortable. IT KILLED ME TO LEAVE HIM, it was the very first time I ever have. When we went to pick him up Amy (the doggie spa's owner) told me she just kept Vegas with her the whole time because she fell in love with him. So he got to hang out in the office all day and participate in doggie day care which he loved. He was freshly bathed, nails cut and licking Amy all over before we left. I am sure your dad will take very good care and will not keep him in the crate the whole time.

I am sure Mr Beefy will be fine. He will probably prefer the safety of his crate knowing your are not there and snooze until you get home. :)

Well I've called my Dad 5xs lol. Just to make sure he'll be there early in the morning. Mr.Beefy CANNOT go in a crate i dont know if he had a bad exp with one in the past but he will pull the metal crate apart to get out. The only one I crated was Baby joe( the puppy) .

Oh I am sure they will both be fine crated or not. My boys seem to sleep mostly when we are gone too so I bet they wont wake up until your dad gets there to play with them anyhow.

My wife and i both have to travel a lot for our jobs and we often have to have my folks dog sit for us, but even they have to work long hours during the day. At home we have a play pen for him to play in while we're out, but at my folks house he has to stay in his crate. Winston doesn't seem to have any problems being in his crate while my folks are at work. He is able to hold his poop while they're gone, and we put puppy pads in his crate if he had an accident. Not trying to endorse peeing in the crate, but at the time he was 9 wks old and we new accidents might happen. Now he is 12wks and hold it quite a bit longer.
