Lola's right ear is super red, gunky and stinky (her left one is fine)....the vet is not available until Friday. I don't know what to do for her in the meantime...she is scratching her ear and growling. Anything I can do to get rid of the infection or at least make her feel better??? :begging:

there is a product called zymox that is otc and is used for this. You can do a search on it and i believe you can use apple cidar vinagar and water mixed in the ear. worth looking up. sorry i cant be more help but i usually have some stuff from the vet left over i use for sarah. Welcome to the forum. There are alot of people here who can give good advice so im so glad you are here. Lola is darling.

Thank you so much!!!!!! I feel so bad.

oh hon dont feel bad sarah has one right now herself in her ear plus a bunch of interdigital cysts that are not mange but bacteria and is on antibiotics as of today so it happens. They are bullys and much as we love and take care of them sometimes things happen. its a bad summer for allergies.

That sounds like such a long time before seeing the Vet. Perhaps your vet can refer you to another emergency vet. I have a second vet nearby where all my cats go so I got a backup place if my bulldog vet is closed. Cleaning the ears of course is the first order of business but if it is too painful she might not let you. I always keep a bottle of Otomax from the vet in case I see an ear issue coming up. My Wilson has a minor ear infection but the vet gave me antibiotics, ear cleaning solution and of course more Otomax. Wish I could be more helpful. If it is possible try to find an alternate vet when your regular vet is not available. An ear infection shouldn't need a English Bulldog specialist I would think. Hugs for you and Lola.

You can go to the pet store and pick up ear cleaner there, and use cotton swabs to clean outer part of ear. You can put some in her ears as well. She obviously has an infection and will need antibiotics from the vet. Hope this helps and don't hesitate to ask any questions.
