I have been looking at the forum since getting Monty about 6 months ago. It is so helpful and has answered quite a few of my questions.

Monty is 4 yrs old and we got him from a family who's circumstances changed and they thought it best to re-home him. It was a difficult decision for them with lots of tears but it was our gain. He is such a lovely boy and we can't believe our good fortune. Our previous dog was a Bulldog/Staffie mix that we rescued in the UK and before that an American Bulldog so we have had our share of stubborn, hard-headed dogs! I wouldn't change them for the world.

Thank you for a great forum!

Welcome to you & Monty! I am so happy to hear he was able to be taken into a great home with lots of love! Monty is one good looking fella ;)

Welcome to EBN. I'm glad you gave Monty a home where he will continue to receive the love it sounds like he always had!

:welcome3: to EBN .... thank you for opening your home to that handsome boy!

Welcome to the site and it's always a pleasure to have another Houstonian here. Your bully is a handsome boy, and I am looking forward in seeing more pics of him.

Thank you for the kind welcome everyone!

:smileywelcome: to you and Monty. He is so lucky to have you. I think you will have no problem with this breed, especially since you have had bully breeds before. They are different, aren't they? :)

They are such characters! I can't imagine not having a bulldog in our lives. My husband was not a fan of EB's.... then we rescued our beloved Chumly, the EB/Staffie (or something) mix who had been in a shelter all his life practically. He was rescued once for 9 months then he was returned. Thank God for the no-kill shelters in the UK. He was 5 when we got him. He had the most awful skin problems which must be why he never found a home as he was the sweetest, kindest dog I have ever met. Our nickname for him was St Chumly and he truly was a saint! My husband was hooked after that and when Chumly died last year it was he that started the search for a bulldog. And now we have our wonderful Monty!

they sure to steal your heart! Thank you for giving Chumly such a great loving life! Best to your Monty

I am so pleased to see another Chumley! Our boy came with his name so we can't claim credit but it so suited him. Do you know the proper English spelling of Chumly? It is Cholmondeley. Our versions are so much easier!
