Soooo the vet appt went good and bad (in my opinion, but really it was good). Dr. Kinnear was GREAT! And we saw at least 8 bullies in the time we were there (about 45 minutes) - I could stay there all day!!! So Chunk definitely needs the Entropion surgery (that's the "bad" part - I hate the idea of surgery), I'm finally giving in after talking to Dr. Kinnear. (Our regular vet isn't really a "bulldog specialist" like Dr. Kinnear, that is why I wanted to see him for a second opinion before opting for surgery.) He said the bumps under his chin are almost definitely due to a food allergy and that the Fromm Whitefish and Potato is a GREAT choice. He explained a few things to me about the skin, entropion and his jaw (I forget what he said it's called but it's why his tongue hangs to the side). Says other than the entropion and skin, he's in great health! So happy to hear that - and feel wonderful that he has pretty much the same opinion as our regular vet. Best part about this vet visit - it was so inexpensive!!! Of all the vet bills we have had - his office was the least expensive which was shocking since he is so highly recommended.
So we will be scheduling the entropion surgery and neutering asap. (On another positive and negative note, my husband got laid off today so he'll be able to tend to Chunk after his surgery. Of course not happy that he is unemployed again but happy he can take care of Sir Chunk-a-lot.) Had hoped to maybe stud Chunk before he was neutered so I could have a baby Chunk but that's not looking possible. Oh well, his health is most important!!
Thanks everyone who's been checking in on me and my boy. I think this overly cautious Mama has finally had her mind put at ease!
