the PA and surgeon both took a look at the pics we emailed, and both said the amount of swelling and bruising look about normal for the post-op length. yay

Koozer had this surgery last year, and yes he had very significant swelling for over about 2 weeks. The draining doesn't sound right though, so I'm glad you have a call into the vet just to be sure. At one point, about 5 weeks post op, we thought the implant failed too, but the surgeon came to our house and verified that the implant was great, and Koozer was healing beautifully. Just warning you that you will over analyze EVERYTHING that your pup does during this healing process. Good luck and keep us posted on the drainage issue and any future concerns.
